If
you spend a summer day on the lake,
it will be an experience you will never
forget. The beauty of Lake Tahoe is
staggering with vistas beyound the imagination.
Every conceivable water sport is available
including fishing charters.
For those who like to camp and backpack
the area has many great camping and
picnicking areas, nestled in the mountains
and close to the lake with a boat camping
area in STUNNING EMERALD BAY.
If you like to hike and bike there are
miles and miles of biking and hiking
trails and approximately 200,000 acres
of designated wilderness areas dotted
with more pristine alpine lakes. These
wilderness areas provide breathtaking
vistas and quiet solitude.
ATTENTION
SKIERS! There is the largest concentration
of ski areas in North America waiting
for you. There are fifteen ski resorts
in the Lake Tahoe area, all within an
hour of each other, with terrains to
suit every skill level. Six of these
areas (Alpine Meadows, Heavenly Valley,
Kirkwood, Northstar-At-Tahoe, Sierra-At-Tahoe
and Squaw Valley) have been top rated
by the nations leading ski magazines.
In
addition to these there are 12 Cross
Country Ski areas near Lake Tahoe, including
Royal Gorge, which was rated number
one by Snow Country Magazine. As you
can well imagine, the skiing, snowboarding
and cross-counrty skiing is fantastic
at Lake Tahoe. You can even explore
Tahoe's back country from a snowmobile.

ATTENTION
GOLFERS. We have 14 Lake Tahoe area
golf courses (at last count) including
the Tahoe and Carson Valley areas. These
include Edgewood Tahoe, home of the
Celebrity Golf Championship. There is
a course for everyone at every skill
level, so don't forget to bring your
clubs. NOTE: Ask Tom about the Lake
Tahoe, Palm Springs connection.

The Lake Tahoe area summer arts and
culture calendar is crowded with events
including fine arts displays at the
Historic Tallac Site, summer music festivals,
our own Shakespeare Festival at beautiful
Sand Harbor, and our own Renaissance
Faire. The 4th of July Celebration,
"The Show of Lights" on the lake, is
a must see. In addition, many
of todays top performers are on stage
at the Lake Tahoe Casinos year round.
We have many excellent restaurants for
exclusive dining experiences as well
as casual family fare. We even have
our own Wine Country in the El Dorado
foothills, with 17 wineries at last
count.
